This is the original series of pipes that first introduced the pipe smoking world to the concept of getting a smooth, cool and dry smoke irregardless of the type of tobacco used. 

A uniquely designed mouthpiece coupled with the NATURAL absorbent properties of BALSA wood combine to produce an exceptional smoke.

Since 1980, almost every new series produced by Savinelli has incorporated the BALSA SYSTEM in its production. The DRY SYSTEM has proven to be not only a great smoking pipe, but it is also the "perfect pipe" for the beginning pipe smoker. It can be smoked with or without the Balsa filters which are included with the pipe.

Pipe smoker's who like the Peterson System pipe will love this pipe.  Savinelli has improved the button or mouthpiece so that the smoke is spread out through a larger rectangular hole, rather than concentrated in one round spot.  The BALSA SYSTEM soaks up the moisture rather than trapping it in a well which tends to start gurgling, thereby a cooler and dryer smoke.

This is a great pipe for smoking an aromatic, the new pipe smoker, or for tobacco that is wet. Guy has one and really loves it!  It will help eliminate tongue bite, the gurgling of trapped moisture...a great all around smoking pipe.

SAVINELLI DRY SYSTEM 1604 Oom Paul shaped pipe features rustic brown blast finish.  6 1/2" long. The bowl is 2 1/4" tall x 1 1/4" wide. The tobacco chamber is 1 3/4" deep x 7/8" wide. Brand new in the box. This is an EX sized pipe that will hold 4.5-5 grams tobacco and cost a little more than an regular dry system pipe because the bowl is larger.
